Smart Microgrid

Modern societies run a distribution micro grid. They have various sources of energy such as electricity being taken from the city distribution grid, back up energy being generated with diesel generators and supplementary energy being produced by renewable sources such as roof top solar and solar heaters. This runs as a microgrid which also needs to be isolated in case of mains power failure. There may also be more than one DG providing the back up. The DGs have a different load profile and different load capacity. Depending on dynamic load conditions, there is an opportunity to install and run smart control to optimize the microgrid operations and conserve energy. At the same time, if the society has invested into solar power, it can provide the renewable energy back to the grid as well. The module helps to calculate and manage the same as well.
